For the second year in a row, Verity Gospel Music Group is the Top Gospel Album Label in Billboard Magazine’s Year End issue.
With 25 titles charting in 2009, Verity Gospel Music Group secured four of Billboard’s list of Top-10 Gospel Album Artists; 13 of the Top-25 Gospel Albums; four of the Top-10 Hot Gospel Songs Artists, and eight of the Top-25 Hot Gospel Songs - including the Top-3 songs on this list “Souled Out;” “Back II Eden;” and “Praise Him In Advance.”
Additionally, as 2009 comes to a close, Verity Gospel Music Group has six of the Top-10 CDs sold year-to-date (WOW GOSPEL 2009; SOULED OUT; THIRSTY; LIVE IN DETROIT: WE ALL ARE ONE; THE LAW OF CONFESSION; LOVE UNSTOPPABLE) ; 14 of the top Gospel radio singles of the year; and the #1 Gospel radio single for the 4th consecutive week with Fred Hammond’s “They That Wait”.
“It is an honor to be the leader in the Gospel music business and to work with artists who are not only creative but who dig deep within themselves to create songs of true meaning and inspiration,” says James “Jazzy” Jordan, Executive Vice President, Verity Gospel Music Group. “Although music industry sales have been down across the board, Gospel music has only experienced a small decrease and I believe that is because this music stands for hope, love and new beginnings – all of which the world can certainly never have enough.”
Verity Gospel Music Group’s 2010 releases will include WOW Gospel 2010 and new music from DeWayne Woods and Marvin Sapp. The label also has 26 Stellar Award nominations and three Grammy Award nominations. A division of Jive Label Group, Verity Gospel Music Group is comprised of Verity Records; GospoCentric Records; Fo-Yo Soul Entertainment; Quiet Water Entertainment; F. Hammond Music and New Life Records. Verity Gospel Music Group is based in New York and has offices in Nashville, TN.
