Donnie McClurkin Added to Lineup For Dove Awards

Donnie McClurkinApril 22, 2009 - The industry's chart-topping Christian and Gospel artists are all set to grace the Grand Ole Opry stage this week in celebration of  GMA's 40th Annual Dove Awards.   On Thursday, April 23 gospel singer, Donnie McClurkin, will join the line-up as a presenter for the festivities in Nashville being broadcast live on Gospel Music Channel Network 8pm-10pm (ET).  Other performers for the evening include: Chris Tomlin, Steven Curtis Chapman, Mercy Me, Mary Mary, Third day, Jonathan Nelson, Natalie Grant and many more.
 
The following day McClurkin heads to Atlanta where he will be honored for his outstanding contribution to the world of gospel music.  The ITC ( Interdenominational Theological Center) hosts their 12th Annual Costen Awarda Gala on Friday, April 24 at the Hyatt Regency.  Ms. Xernona Clayton, Founder of Trumpet Awards and former honoree, will serve as the Mistress of Ceremonies for the event.  The ITC will present awards to other honorees their contributions in Civic And Community Service, Government, Business and Religion, along with McClurkin's Arts & Entertainment award.

 The Verity recording artist's new CD, We Are All One (Live In Detroit)  debuted in #1 position on Billboard's Gospel Sales chart.  Additionally, the CD landed at #7 on Billboard's R&B Albums Chart, #26 on its Top-200 Albums Chart, and #1 on CMTA's Top Christian/Gospel Albums chart.  The first single, "Wait on the Lord" featuring Karen Clark Sheard, was #2 most added and #2 most increased spins at radio.
