Kingdom Records’ acclaimed sister act, The Brown Sisters of Chicago, have reached the Top 20 on the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs chart with their debut radio single “Awesome God.” After five months of building an enthusiastic and burgeoning radio audience, this future praise and worship anthem debuts in the #20 slot on this week’s Billboard Hot Gospel Songs chart.

The quintet’s first CD The Brown Sisters Live in Chicago has garnered rave reviews. Gospel Today magazine says “these sisters are no joke” and Worship Leader magazine hails the CD as “a musical treasure…genuinely flawless.”

The Brown Sisters have developed a sterling reputation in the Windy City for their riveting gospel stage performances that date back to the early 1990s. They have appeared on bills with such musical luminaries as Aretha Franklin, Bobby McFerrin and Mavis Staples, among others. They have performed all over Europe for a decade (and recorded a successful traditional gospel CD of hymns and church standards for the European market) and have appeared at the prestigious Montreux Jazz and New Orleans Jazz Festivals. They also spent a decade as the house background vocal group for the nationally syndicated “Testify” television program.
