Okay, today is a holiday, I truly planned on chillin today...but I just HAD to post something relative to all of the Twitter and FB messages going on about Gospel Legend Albertina Walker.

I'm a bit saddened that soooo many stated that the woman was DEAD. At the same time, with all of these social networking sites, news and rumor spread like fire - some people are not able to differentiate truth from fiction - and then an uncontrollable wild fire breaks out! I think that we have to be mindful of the SOURCE that we get things from. Although Twitter and Facebook are entertaining, and SOMETIMES informational - they are not the END ALL when it comes to validating serious news like this. It seems that many just wanted to be considered as the FIRST ONES to note the condition of Albertina Walker.

The reason why I'm SOOO annoyed by this, is because the same rumor was out about First Lady Malinda Sapp last week. How dare we publish information about someone's death without confirming first? Are we so self-induced that we forget that these people have FEELINGS and that their families have FEELINGS and the right to NOT have to hear rumors to this degree about their loved one? smh... Saints, we've done more damage than good with this.

I WAS, however, glad to see the tweets and posts of those who were simply PRAYING. That is what we do in times like this saints.

The other thing that we can do, is do our best to lean on RELIABLE media sources for updates - www.RocspaceNews.com, www.Neechy.com, www.GospelFlava.com, and many others that you go to for your daily news. Saints, we gotta do better...

Oh, and FOR THE RECORD: As of the time of this posting, Albertina Walker is still in ICU in a Chicago hospital. She is still with us and we are continuing to pray that GOD'S perfect will be done in her life.
