E.J. Gaines Hey RocSpacers!  You almost didn't get this summary cuz I'm crazy busy at GMWA, but I could NEVER forget you guys!  Here we are...

GMWA is in full swing here in Cincinnati, OH.  I'm here for the whole week and it's jam-packed with gospel music events.  There are daily morning worship sessions, workshops, showcases, nightly musicals and concerts.  OH MY.  I'm catchin' naps when I can.  I'm most excited about a full concert featuring Donald Lawrence on Tuesday night and an even HUGER concert on Thursday night, co-sponsored by the Macy's Music Festival, featuring Yolanda Adams, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Byron Cage and MANY more.  I'll be exhausted, but I'm gonna get some good music in my ears.  If you're in the Cincinnati area, stop by the Duke Energy Center PRONTO!  Visit http://www.gmwanational.net for more info.

BeBe & CeCe Winans have FINALLY announced the title of their loooong-awaited reunion album and we've got release date.  On October 6th, we can all purchase their new album, entitled Still.  I think the album, which I hear will feature a collaboration with Mary Mary, will not disappoint!  Follow them on Twitter at http://www.twitter/com/bebeandcece.

Hey, RocSpace buddies!

I dunno how many of you have seen the trailers for the new season of The Lexi Show, to begin this fal on The Word Network, but PLEASE do yourself a favor and check 'em out. Lexi is widely known as a gifted vocalist, but it's also clear that the Lord has blessed her as a pretty amazing journalist, too! She's speaking to some fairly controversial figures in the gospel music industry, as well as in the church body, and she's not holding back on the questions we ALL wanna know the answers to. Check it out below.

BET has announced that Mary Mary will perform at the annual BET Awards telecast, airing live from Los Angeles this Sunday, June 28th at 8pm ET. Mary Mary is nominated for the "Best Gospel Artist" award, along with Regina Belle, Shirley Caesar, Smokie Norful and Trin-I-Tee 5:7. Should be a great performance!

Xist Worldwide has announced its plans for an Urban Gospel Cruise in September of 2010. It'll feature over a dozen of your favorite artists, including 21:03, Mali Music, Coko, DeWayne Woods, J.R., Karima Kibble, Lisa McClendon, Sean Simmonds, T-Bone, and MORE. Visit http://www.xistgospelcruise.com/ for more details.

And finally, the newest single from J Moss, "Restored," premiered exclusively at GospelPundit.com last week. It's from J Moss' upcoming album, titled Just James, which is due in stores on August 25th. It's being described as his most transparent and personal project to date... I think it's gonna be pretty awesome!
That's all for now, folks. I'll see you next week!

Hey RocSpace!  Good to see ya again.
This past weekend, some of the greatest names in gospel music descended upon NYC for two events-- the Central Park Summer Stage concert and the annual McDonald's GospelFest.  The Summer Stage event featured Ruben Studdard, Byron Cage, Smokie Norful and Tye Tribbett at an outdoor concert in the middle of NYC's Central Park.  It was raining a bit, but it was AWESOME.  Some true praisers and worshippers endured the raindrops and had a great time.  (By the way, Byron Cage sang a track from his upcoming album, "Faithful To Believe," and... WOWWW!)

Then, just across the water at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, the McDonald's GospelFest featured Patti LaBelle, Donnie McClurkin, Hezekiah Walker, Vickie Winans, J Moss, CeCe Winans, Regina Belle, Cissy Houston... sounds like a lot, right?!  The backstage area had even MORE artists kickin' it-- Melinda Watts, Jason Nelson, Jerard Woods, Duawne Starling... it was bananas!  Great music all day, and it was great to see so many artists glorifying God and ministering to His people.

E.J. GainesHey good people!  What's new in gospel?  Glad you asked!

The newest single from Fred Hammond, "They That Wait," features John P. Kee and is available for an EXCLUSIVE listen at... yeah, you guessed it-- GospelPundit.com.  The full album, Love Unstoppable, is due in stores on September 29, 2009, so start savin' NOW.

Identity Crisis, the sophomore album from holy hip-hopper Tedashii, debuted at #2 on the Billboard gospel chart (and #10 on the Christian chart), making it the highest-selling holy hip-hop album of 2009.  That's an incredible feat, so CONGRATS are definitely in order to him and his team.

Israel Houghton has just released a special Worship Leader Edition of his most recent album, The Power Of One.  It features the full original album PLUS ten acoustic tracks to serve as a resource for church worship leaders.  In addition, the special edition comes with a DVD of the acoustic performances, tutorials on guitar chords and lots more.  I think it's a graet idea and very helpful for church music ministries.  Visit the Integrity Music website for more info about it: http://www.integritymusic.com.

That's about it for now, folks.  'Til next week...

E.J. Gaines for Gospel Pundit - Official Rocspace BloggerHeyyyy Rocspace!  Lots going on, so let's get right to it...

Bishop Eddie Long's latest project, The Kingdom Vol 1., debuted at #2 on Billboard's Gospel charts this past week... that's no small feat, so congrats are in order!  The project features guest spots from Mary Mary, Tye Tribbett and Dorinda Clark-Cole, so make sure you check it out.

The industry is buzzing over Melinda Watts (2008 Gospel Dream Winner) and her upcoming debut, People Get Ready.  Her first single, "So Good," premiered on Friday at GospelPundit.com (not a shameless plug-- it's really the only place you can hear it online for the time being!).  Make sure you check it out... a really bangin' song for the summer!

Speaking of new music, here's a heads-up: John P. Kee is planning to release a quartet album later this year.  He's been "leaking" exclusive tracks on his MySpace page like CRAZY, so check there frequently for exclusive music from him-- http://www.myspace.com/johnpkee.  Last week, he let us listen to an advance of a track called "uuuuwwwhhhh" (seriously...) featuring Anthony Hamilton.  It was incredible!
