About the Honorees: For 17 years, six-member group Commissioned spread the gospel with an emboldened sense of purpose and fierce musical skill. The group was co-founded in 1982 by Fred Hammond, along with Michael Brooks, Karl Reid, Keith Stanton, Mitchell Jones & Michael Williams. As the lineup changed, standout members included Marvin Sapp & others. Commissioned parted ways in 1999, but their music remains a bold influence of contemporary gospel stars & a beloved favorite of fans around the world. Pastor Shirley Caesar’s work with the Caravans first introduced her to large audiences. During her time with the legendary group, she preached her first sermon and delivered lead vocals on Gospel songs such as “I Won’t Be Back” and “No Coward Soldiers”. As a solo artist, Caesar embraced contemporary production & secular rhythms like r&b and disco. As a result, she climbed pop, r&b and Gospel charts. In addition to a stunning 11 Grammys, Pastor Caesar has earned 18 Dove Awards & 14 Stellar Awards. Currently, she is the Sr. Pastor of Mt. Calvary Word of Faith in ,]NC.

Group Scores Fourth Consecutive #1 Hit at Internet Radio with “More Than That”
Popular trio Brothers Forever has been on the road in support of their 2009 Breakthrough Tour. The tour kicked off two weeks ago with several dates in Louisiana and Alabama. The 2009 Breakthrough Tour will have Brothers Forever in several states including North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Massachusetts, Washington, Idaho, Texas, Arizona, and Florida in addition to the aforementioned Louisiana and Alabama. Curtis Hagy of Brothers Forever said, “This tour was birthed through God showing us that 'breakthrough' was coming to God’s people. People who have been struggling with sickness, emotional and financial distress, marriage problems, and so much more. God is going to restore them and bring 'breakthrough' into their lives. We are seeing this take place first hand in our services.” “Louisiana kicked this tour off, and it was incredible to see so many young people on the altar seeking God to restore their relationships and to bring breakthrough in their lives,” responded Gary Ballew of Brothers Forever. “Parents are seeing their children come back to God, people are being healed of various diseases, anxiety, fear, and depression – God is whipping all of them from peoples minds!” For more information on the group’s 2009 Breakthrough Tour, including dates and event schedules, visit Brothers Forever’s website at http://www.brothersforever.net. In addition, Brothers Forever has scored their fourth consecutive #1 song from their Sheltered album at Internet radio. The song, “More Than That,” reached the #1 spot on the SouthernSpinRadio.com Top 30 Weekly Spin chart – making it the most played song of the week at the award-winning station. “Our regular listeners have given their overwhelming approval of Brothers Forever,” mentioned Southern Spin Radio program director Chris Unthank. “These guys’ ratings are through the roof. Taking them #1 is a no-brainer!” “More Than That” follows the success of the group’s previous singles, “I Feel a Blessing Coming On,” “I Can’t Forget the Day,” and “I Am Him.” Brothers Forever encourages everyone to call their local radio station and request their newest single – “More Than That.” To visit the newly designed Brothers Forever website, visit http://www.brothersforever.net.

Southern Gospel favorites the Men of Music
are proud to announce their return to full-time touring after a three
year absence from the road. The Men of Music came off the road due to
group owner/manger Mike Bullock’s wife, Carolyn’s, diagnosis with
cancer.
Bullock has officially turned over the reigns of the ministry to Greg
Colburn, the last touring baritone for the group before coming off the
road. Mike will not be returning to the road. Carolyn is in full
remission of her illness, but Mike is enjoying spending the time at
home with his family.
Mike Bullock commented, “I want to encourage everyone who is and has
been a friend of the Men of Music to know that I support what this
group is doing and hope that all of my friends and acquaintances will
continue to book the group even though I may not be on the road with
them.”
